FOOD PANTRY
Simply put, Centenary and Mahoning's mission is to connect with the community in order to share the light of Christ. The Centenary and Mahoning Food Pantry responds to the mission by extending a “helping hand.” Our primary focus is the distribution of food to families in the local community who are in need. Food Pantry Team members and community volunteers pitch in, working hard together, to make sure deserving families receive generous bags full of groceries each month.
Regular food distributions are held at Centenary and Mahoning on the fourth Thursday of each month, primarily for residents in the 44504 and 44510 geographical areas on the north side of Youngstown. However, no one will be turned away as long as we have food to give. The church is located at 1413 Belmont Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio, 44504.
Centenary and Mahoning are a member agency of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Mahoning County. Membership allows us to receive foods from the Food Bank either free of cost or at greatly reduced rates. While some of the foods we receive and distribute are free to the church, we do have to pay for most. Recent reductions in food stamps and other social services have become a reality for families in our community. In response, the Food Pantry Team tries to stock up on as many items as possible in order to continue helping as many community families as possible. Your generous donations will go far to help support the work of the Food Pantry and will be very much appreciated.
